VEAZEY Is there anyone in Baldwin County who would consent to transcribe the will of Thomas Veazey (Veasey) for me and send it email? He died in 1830 and his will appears in Book B, p. 10. I have only an abstract and that is insufficient. Thank you.

VINSON. Has anyone researching VINSON done a lineage on Carl VINSON, the State Representative that the U.S.S. Carl VINSON is named after? Or can someone tell me where I might find one. My father tells me that he is arelated to him, as nephew or great nephew, but I can't find evidence of it, yet. Of course I havn't found the family (parents/siblings) of my Dad's great grandfather VINSON yet, either. This may be where the relation is. He (Dad) says he and his family visited him (Carl) at his home a number of times when he was a child. My Dad is 83 and it is hard to tell which of his stories is completely accurate, God Bless him. Since my father, brings this up everytime I mention my research on VINSON, I guess I need to check it out in order to finally see if his story is valid. I usually like to work back from known ancestors but I feel I need to make an exception here. I am not looking for the Political or Military History of Carl Vinson or the ship, I can get that in many other places, I am looking for his family LINEAGE or would like to get in touch with someone working on it. Any contact on this would be appreciated. Sincerely
Cynthia SIMS Kirkland (Feb. 99)

WILLIAMS. A letter was found written 17 Dec. 1864 to an ancestor that her husband Evan JONES had been brought by his brother John Johns to the home of a W.A. Williams. Evan Jones was very sick and unable to continue on, his brother asked that the Williams' look after John. Both were soldiers in the 31st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Evan aged 24 died there. The letter recounts the terrible destruction of Sherman's troops to the farm, but that the Williams family had done everything possible to make John Jones comfortable before his death on November 29th, and said they had buried him near their house, near where Sherman's army had buried some of their dead. Would anyone now possibly know where this burial is located or where this particular Williams farm was located.

WILLIS. I'm looking for WILLIAM WILLIS who I think might have had a son Thomas; born in 1805 and married Mary WILKERSON. They had a son William Isaac who was my great grandfather. It seems there was a William in Baldwin Co. at this time named William who died and had a son William. The William I'm looking for shows up as a minor soon after that on a road tax record. From there on we can identify Thomas but can't connect him as the son of William i'm refering to. Is there such a record on the Baldwin Co. files and are there other family members looking for this same person. Thanks for any help you can give.
