Genealogy Quest is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Genealogy Quest collects information from our users at several different points on our website.

Registration
There is no need to register in order to use this website. A user who wishes to subscribe to our newsletter must first complete the registration form. The Newsletter registration form requires name and email address only. This information is used only to fulfill the subscription request. There is no other demographic information or personal information required.

Order
We request information from the user on our order form. Here a user must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and method of payment. This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer’s orders. We recommend the use of an online payment service (like PayPal), where no identifying financial information is required. We carefully researched many such payment services available, and concluded that PayPal was the safest, the most professional, and the most secure.
If we have trouble processing an order, the contact information is used to get in touch with the user.

Sharing
We do not share personal identifying information with any organization. We do not share aggregated demographic information with any organization.

We do not use outside companies to process orders.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Genealogy Quest does not use cookies.

Some of our business partners may use cookies on their site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to, or control over, these cookies.

Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

We do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.

Genealogy Information
No personal or historical genealogical data is shared with any other person or organization. The sole exception is, when specifically requested to do so by the client, Genealogy Quest will post specific queries on recognized non-commercial genealogy websites, in order to locate information or to share genealogical interests. Clients receive all copies of information they have requested and paid for. Genealogy Quest does not re-sell copies of documents or other genealogical information. Genealogy Quest does not seek to generate new clients by advertising to others with similar research interests. Genealogy Quest does provide, from public documents, information that we may have gathered during the course of the assignment. This information is available on files displayed on the website. No information is displayed which identifies a particular client.
